Chriscentia is an attorney with the Land and Housing Programme and head of the Upington office.

While completing her LLB at the University of the Western Cape in 2012 she was principal coordinator of the Street Law Project for two years which involved developing lesson plans on children’s rights, socio-economic rights and facilitating training workshops. Chriscentia served her articles at the Legal Resources Centre.

Chriscentia was also a Be Just Fellow at the Bertha Foundation.

Having grown up in a disadvantaged community, she has seen first-hand the social ills of poor and marginalised people. She chose to pursue law to effect much-needed social change.

“Non-profit work plays a crucial role in making the law accessible to everyone. It also gives everyone a fair chance to benefit from the protection of the law, particularly the Constitution.”

Chriscentia intends on continuing her contribution to the alleviation of the plight of marginalised communities through impact litigation and law reform.
